Oh Hummingbird

The hummingbirds have been flocking here since late last week. On Monday afternoon, no fewer than 12 were hovering around, awaiting a chance to get to the feeder. I sat and watched them up close for about an hour that afternoon. I took a few pictures, but eventually gave that up for the simple pleasure of focused seeing and hearing those wings and chirps.

  2. Awesome, incredible this movement you were able to capture. Lovely. Wish we had hummingbirds in the Netherlands...

Have you received your package, Rebecca? :)

  5. Great shots Rebecca. Our hummingbird days have peaked but we still have a few a day. We get the Rufus with the bright red throats. These ones you snapped are lovely. Looks like males & females! Gorgeous.
    Cheers,

  6. How lovely, Rebecca! We haven't gotten any hummingbirds in the garden or at my fushia this year that I've seen! I've missed them. Your pictures are always so wonderful! xo Cait

  7. I've always wanted a humming bird feeder, but they aren't indigenous to this area. However, we do have the rare hummingbird moth--astonishing in it's own right!
